My limerick entries on the topic of tourneys:
Cucumbers and Tourneys
Our tourney had lots of newcombers,
And they were hungry for cucumbers.
So we made a salad,
And also a ballad!
And now they have become old comers!
On Receiving an AoA
Her Majesty mentioned a journey;
Which involves many a tourney.
So welcome indeed,
We wish you good speed!
As you start your SCA journey!
Tourney Weather
It's Angel's special day,
On the fields we cannot play.
Arianna opined:
"And the weather is fine!"
Isn't that always the way!
Practice for Saturday's limerick contest (a.k.a. what I do when I'm not sleeping at 4am)
There's no word that rhymes with Angels.
Unless you use archangels.
But that's quite the cheat,
And I'd take much heat.
So I guess I'll use orange instead!
EDIT: Rewrote the last line, better now! Thanks to Susan Mayer for the hint!!!
(Yes, it doesn't rhyme on purpose, it's meant to be a royal mess of a limerick -- nailed it!!)
For Robear
The dragon sat on my spear,
I said "Drat, darn, and oh dear!"
I have naught to do
To help me get through.
The dragon will win now I fear!
