"That perfection is unobtainable is not an excuse not to strive for it."

In March of 2016, the Calafia/Gyldenholt Friendship 2016 tourney theme was
Gathering of the Clans.
Fu Ching Lan recruited Tim and I for Clan Gordon. One of the contests for the clans was a bardic performance, so I wrote a set of limericks. We didn't win the bardic contest, but I like the poems none the less. |
Fighters of Clan Gordon assemble.
We must make the enemy tremble.
By courage not by craft, [1]
Will we send them all aft.
Only then will we all disassemble.
We Gordons march to defend the Clan. [2]
Far across the horizon we span.
There is no march too hard,
Nor a warrior too scarred.
We will fight for our Chief, to the man.
Our dearest Cock of the North, Chief Fu, [3]
Has bid us here, in yellow and blue.
We will Stay and Fight, [4]
Till we set things right.
Thus the Clans will know we're tried and true.
In Califia we gathered the Clans.
Fu, Laird of Gordon, called for all hands.
We passed a fair day,
In hard work and play.
Proud, tall, and strong our Clan Gordon stands.
